The surprise of the NBA season so far has been Golden State, who has not made the playoffs in the last 2 years after their 5 straight Finals appearances. They were expected to make the playoffs this year by many, but they are clearly the best team in the league so far, and Klay Thompson has still not returned from his 2 years off due to injury. The Lakers have been the biggest disappointment, with a record below .500 so far, though they did have LeBron James out for 8 of their games, so things could turn around.
