College Football Rankings - 28 Sep

Texas A&M is the first team this season to maintain the top spot in my rankings, but they didn't do it by blowing away the opposition like they did in the first 4 weeks. This time, facing #7 Arkansas, they had to make a late comeback before winning in overtime, moving them to 5-0 to open their first season post-Manziel. Here are this week's full rankings:

UCLA climbed to their highest ranking of the season after they dominated the Arizona State Sun Devils 62-27 on Thursday night. The Bruins have played the 3rd-toughest schedule in the nation so far, and are still unscathed, with a visit from the Oregon Ducks looming in 2 weeks.

TCU moved into the top 10 this week as well after a 56-0 shutout of SMU on the road. The Horned Frogs have given up only 21 points this season so far, and while they haven't played anybody, they have taken care of those they've played. They play their 3 toughest games in the next 3 weeks, with Oklahoma, Baylor, and Oklahoma State in consecutive weeks.

Michigan State moved up big this week following a second straight win by at least 40 points. It looks like they are taking out their frustration from losing to Oregon on some of the FBS weaklings, but next week they get Nebraska in what may be a preview of the Big 10 Championship Game.
