College Football Rankings - 14 Sep

There weren't a lot of games this weekend that were supposed to be competitive, but there were still some surprises, highlighted by Boston College's takedown of USC, which sent the Trojans shooting downward in the rankings after climbing into the top 5 last week. Here are my full rankings for this week:

Auburn took over the top spot during their bye week after watching BYU underperform and Texas A&M play an extremely weak opponent, allowing the Tigers to bubble to the top. Other than their late-season FCS opponent (an SEC staple), every team remaining on Auburn's schedule is either ranked or should be, which is why they are projected to lose twice this season.

Baylor moved up to #2 after their 3rd straight blowout to open the season. They are currently #1 in the nation in point scored and #3 in point allowed, but a lot of that has to do with the weakness of their opponents so far, with a strength of schedule rank in the bottom 10 through 3 weeks.

The latest SEC team to arrive in the top 5 is Ole Miss, who ran past the Ragin Cajuns this week for their third straight victory of at least 20 points, which began with a defeat of Boise State, which has won both games since, boosting up the Rebels' rating to its highest point in years.
