The Spurs moved up to #1 this week after blowing out the Miami Heat on Thursday, avenging their loss in the Finals and telling the world that they are still among the elite teams and intend to make return trip to the NBA Finals, something that has never happened in team history. This week has a couple tough matchups for San Antonio, but they should still be favored in all 4 contests.
The Nets have continued their hot streak, winning 3 of 4 this week, including takedowns of the Bulls and Grizzlies, and they haven't lost 2 in a row in over a month. This week they reached .500 for the first time since they were 1-1, and they plan to not wait 50 games to do it again.
Indiana has lost 3 straight games for the first time all season, and each loss was a little worse than the one before. They lost a close game at home to the Warriors, who are one of the better teams in the league, then lost by 22 in Charlotte, a team that has never made the playoffs, then lost by even more in Houston last night, meaning they were outscored by 42 points this week. They may still end up with the best record in the East, but it's looking more and more like the Heat will win the conference for the fourth straight season.
