By my definition, the hottest team of the week is the one that most outperformed expectations during the previous week, so that team is rarely the team that was #1 to start the week, but this week that rare occurrence happened. The Utah Jazz have been at #1 for a couple of weeks already, but they were especially good this week, playing 3 teams that began the week in the top 10, and beating all 3 easily, culminating in a 14-point win over the #2 team last night, putting the Jazz nearly 2.5 points ahead of any other team in the league right now. With home court advantage currently only 0.67 points, that means Utah is currently favored in all remaining games, though they are still projected to lose 2 more before the All-Star break next month.
