The Washington Wizards had a pretty good week, nearly beating the #1 Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, then destroying the LeBron-led Cavaliers by 13 last night. At 8-2 in the last 10, you can't overlook this team, whose only 2 defeats in that time are against the top team in each conference.
Denver has suddenly come alive over the past couple weeks, winning 4 of their last 5, with wins against New Orleans and Cleveland, along with Oklahoma City and Indiana, who are not the teams they were last year. They did somehow lose to the Knicks during that time, which makes no sense at all, but they are definitely improving.
Houston already had me concerned last week after escaping Philly with a 1-point win, then did nothing to assuage those fears over the past 7 days. They had a huge showdown with Memphis for the best record in the West and ended up losing by 26, then followed it up 2 days later by losing to the Lakers, who had won only twice previously this season. Houston definitely has a problem.
