This week's biggest loser was one of last week's biggest winners, the New York Knicks. Going into this week, the Knicks had won two straight by at least 30 points, and they started this week with another blowout against the Celtics, but this time they were on the wrong end of of 41-point difference. They followed that with a big loss at Cleveland, putting the Knicks back basically where they were 2 weeks ago, before we started to think they weren't finished. Maybe we were right in the first place.
Another big loser this week was the Chicago Bulls, who have struggled mightily since losing Derrick Rose for the season yet again. This week they went 0-3, including losses to the last-place Bucks and the equally cold New York Knicks (see above). Somehow they've managed to win a couple without their MVP, including a head-scratcher against the Heat, but wins will continue to be few and far between for the rest of the year.
The hottest team of the week was Oklahoma City, who beat the Indiana Pacers, who were the top team at the time, then won back-to-back road games against Atlanta and Memphis, both among the top half of the league's teams. They have won 4 in a row and 12 of 13, with the only loss in that stretch coming against Portland, the team with the West's best record, on the road, no less.
