This week's hottest team was Chicago, which won three times to extend their win streak to 7 games, allowing them to pass Toronto for the 3rd seed in the East. They won 2 road games this week that were likely losses, in Washington and Minnesota, but won both by over 15 points, and they could repeat the feat this week in New York and Charlotte.
Atlanta was also hot this week, right when they had to be, because they are still fighting to hold on to the last playoff spot in the East, with New York surging as well. Atlanta won big in Indiana to open the week, and closed it out with another big win in Brooklyn, which kept them 2 games ahead of the Knicks with 3 games left. It's not a must-win against Miami tonight, but it sure would be nice to lock up that spot tonight.
A 2-1 week doesn't usually qualify as cold, but Toronto's two wins this week came against the two worst teams in the league, by an average of only 7.5 points, and they followed those up with a home loss to New York, which is fighting for its playoff life. That loss may have cost the Raptors the 3-seed, meaning they'll have to face Brooklyn in the first round rather than the Wizards or Bobcats.
