During Divisional Week, two road underdogs pulled off victories, while the two heaviest favorites won pretty convincingly, leaving us with an impressive final four teams, with a combined 7 Super Bowl titles among the quarterbacks. My personal pre-playoff picks have been very close, with Green Bay replacing Dallas in the NFC title game. Here are my updated playoff odds, with change from last week in parentheses:
Odds of Reaching Super Bowl
1. Falcons - 66.9% (+28.5)
2. Patriots - 65.8% (+13.9)
3. Steelers - 34.2% (+17.1)
4. Packers - 33.1% (+19.1)
Atlanta was the big winner last week, not only by beating the Seahawks decisively, but by having Dallas lose, which gave the Falcons one more home game to help them reach the second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Odds of Winning Super Bowl
1. Patriots - 35.7% (+6.7)
2. Falcons - 35.1% (+14.5)
3. Steelers - 15.4% (+7.4)
4. Packers - 13.9% (+7.9)
The only remaining team and QB to have never won a Super Bowl saw its odds take the biggest jump this week, thanks to a very strong performance and having the path in front of them cleared out a little, though all 4 teams have a legitimate shot at the title.
My Picks
Conference Championships
(1) Patriots over (3) Steelers
(2) Falcons over (4) Packers
Super Bowl
(1) Patriots over (2) Falcons
My Super Bowl picks have remained unchanged since Week 15, and I'm not changing them now, though I could be persuaded to pick Atlanta to win based on today's results.
