College Football Rankings - 29 Oct

The #2 and #3 teams in my rankings last week faced off yesterday in Columbus, and since Ohio State was the home team and higher in my rankings, I picked them to win, which they did. Both teams earned a major strength of schedule boost from facing each other, helping to push them ahead of #1 Alabama, who was idle and has faced the weakest schedule of any of the top 8 teams so far, just barely ahead of #9 Washington's, which is consistently put down in the media. The strangest development is that Penn State jumped ahead of Ohio State despite losing to the Buckeyes, which seems completely wrong, but is actually correct. With home field advantage worth just over 5 points on average, a one-point home victory amounts to a 4-point loss when adjusted, and with how close the two teams were last week, it makes sense that the Nittany Lions would pass OSU this week. Here are my full current rankings, with projected conference champs in bold:
