NCAA Football Rankings - 18 Oct

 The top two teams in my rankings played each other yesterday, and the result was a solid win for #1 Alabama, which keeps the Tide at #1 for another week. Georgia remained at #2 due to a lack of top teams playing and/or playing well. Clemson slipped one spot despite their huge blowout win over Georgia Tech due to the weakness of the Yellowjackets and the fact that blowouts are capped in my formula to prevent top teams from padding their rating with blowouts over cupcakes. The Mountain West and Big 10 will be starting play this weekend, which brings several more ranked teams into play and should help stabilize the rankings a little more. Also, UMass decided to play a short schedule this year, and had their first game yesterday, so I've added them to this week's full rankings:
