NCAA Bracket Prediction - 2 Feb

West Virginia's loss to Texas Tech dropped them from the 1-seed they just reached last week, handing the spot right back to Duke. 3 new at-large teams jumped in this week, with Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and Mississippi State knocking out Xavier, Georgetown, and NC State. Here is my full current bracket, with projected conference champs in bold, new teams in italics, rising teams in green, and falling teams in red:

  1. Seems like a decent bracket with the exception of Duke on the 1 line over Gonzaga. I'm curious as to what leads you to that conclusion? Duke lost at home to Stephen F Austin while Gonzaga has lost only once to Michigan on a neutral site. I would think those two would be flip flopped, but otherwise I can't quibble too much.

  2. This was a really close call for me, but the fact that Duke's schedule is top 10 in the country while Gonzaga's is the weakest of any of the top 20 teams was the deciding factor. SFA wasn't a great loss for Duke, but at least they are a likely tournament team. I went back and forth on these two teams for quite a while.
