NCAA Football Rankings - 1 Oct

Thanks to a strong win over a previously unbeaten Kansas team, the Texas Longhorns have taken over the top spot in this week's rankings, leaping over their rivals to the north, the Oklahoma Sooners. Michigan made a big move from 9 to 3 after destroying Nebraska on the road, and Washington slid to #5 after barely holding on to beat Arizona. Clemson, USC, and Air Force joined the top 25 this week, while TCU, Syracuse, and Auburn fell out after each lost yesterday. Here are my full current rankings, with projected conference champs in bold, runners-up underlined, and playoff teams in red:

Note: rankings have been updated on 10/3, West Virginia, Western Michigan, and Western Kentucky's rankings were swapped.

  1. Appears to be some really weird things going on here. West Virginia in particular seems off. They have wins over teams ranked 28, 38, and 98 with a loss to 6. Yet they are coming out of the model at 115.

    1. Thanks for pointing that out, their data had been swapped with Western Michigan's, it is now corrected, and they are at #35 where they belong.
