After rushing for 1547 yards as a freshman at Georgia, Nick Chubb suffered a terrible knee injury as a sophomore, but came back for strong junior and senior seasons before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Chubb started his rookie season as a third-string back, but he played well enough when he was on the field that the Browns traded starter Carlos Hyde away in the middle of the season and named Chubb the starter. He finished his rookie season with 996 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.

In his second season, as a full-time starter, Chubb rushed for 1494 yards and another 8 touchdowns, averaging a great 5.0 yards per carry, which is the worst of his career so far. He ended up with 1772 scrimmage yards, which is the best of his career to this point, and he made his first of 4 straight Pro Bowls at the end of the season.

He missed 4 games in the middle of the 2020 season with an MCL injury, but still managed to finish with 1067 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per carry, his best for a full season. He helped the Browns reach the playoffs that year, and had 145 yards in their first playoff game, leading them to a 48-37 victory over the Steelers.

In 2021, he finished #2 in the league in rushing yards, the second time he had been the runner-up, totaling 1259 yards. In 2022, he had a career-high with 1525 yards and tied his best mark with 12 touchdowns, which got him onto the All-Pro Second Team for the first time in his career.

He started 2023 out strong, with 106 yards in week 1, and 64 yards in the second game before he went down with a serious knee injury, tearing his MCL and injuring his ACL. He ended up missing the rest of the season, and is currently working through rehab to make a comeback in the 2024 season.

Chubb is #7 on the all-time list for yards per carry, averaging 5.3 yards per rush for his career so far, and he has averaged at least 5 yards per carry in every single season he has played. He is also in the all-time top 10 in yards per game, averaging over 84 yards each week. He has made the Pro Bowl in every full season he has been a starter, and if he is able to return to full strength after this injury, he has a shot to become one of the very best of all time.
